CICCA's Executive Director, Kellie Walsh, was asked to moderate a user panel at this year's National Biodiesel Conference, which took place February 4-7, 2007.
David Knapp, of Carter-Lee Lumber and also a CICCA member, was a participant on the panel. He discussed Carter-Lee's past years of experience with a blend of B20 soy biodiesel.
In 2006, Walsh proposed the possibility of Carter-Lee's fleet implementing biofuels. To date, 18 lumberyards affiliated with the organization in Indiana , Kentucky , Ohio and Illinois are running on a biodiesel blend, mostly B20.
Approximately 100 conference goers attended this particular session. The overall conference was attended by nearly 3500, a certain record since the annual conference began.
During the conference, Walsh made national fleet contacts, as well as a national fuel retailer contact. These contacts are being pursued for membership in CICCA. |
