CICCA Executive Director, Kellie Walsh, meets with Senator Lugar
and Attends Two-Day Clean Cities Coalition Meeting

Prior to the start of the Department of Energy's Clean Cities Meeting, Kellie Walsh, Executive Director of CICCA met with Senator Richard Lugar to discuss alternative fuels in Indiana and our nation's dependence on foreign oil. Senator Lugar is a staunch supporter of biofuels and author of many biofuels Bills recently passed in the National Energy Bill. CICCA Receives Top Award for E85 Efforts

The National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition recently awarded 8 grants totaling fifty thousand dollars to the Department of Energy Clean Cities Coalitions and Transportation Energy Partnerships (TEP). Curtis Donaldson, Chairman of the NEVC, announced the awards at the Clean Cities Project Review held in Washington D.C. on Tuesday, March 7. The funds were allocated to local clean cities coalitions that have acted on a local level to support the NEVC's mission to increase education and availability of E85.

The Central Indiana Clean Cities Alliance, Inc. was one of the $5,000 recipients. Kellie Walsh, CICCA Executive Director, was commended for 'energizing' the state of Indiana. She has worked closely with the Office of Energy and Defense Development, Office of the Lt. Governor, Indiana Petroleum Marketers Association, Indiana Corn Growers and other local partners as well as the NEVC, to make E85 a more prominent fuel in Indiana.

Since May of 2005, CICCA has assisted with the opening of over 20 E85 Retail sites and have hosted two E85 Retailer Workshops designed to educate petroleum retailers on what E85 is and what is required to dispense the fuel. The third workshop is Scheduled for April 27, 2006, in Jasper, IN.
