The IMA has taken many steps to become more environmentally responsible in its daily energy consumption, and has pledged to incorporate “green building” and energy conservation principles into any new or retrofit construction. In addition, the IMA is exploring the use of hybrid/electric vehicles for its security and horticulture staff. The Indianapolis Museum of Art has free general admission. Situated on 152 acres of gardens and grounds, the IMA is home to the Indianapolis Museum of Art, Oldfields–Lilly House & Gardens and the Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park. The IMA offers visitors a broad range of artistic experiences from special exhibitions, lectures, classes and workshops to an historic house museum. The IMA is located at 4000 Michigan Road.
